Just got back from Hospital, and would like to introduce you to Charlie Flynn Gerring, born Wednesday 22nd November, at 1.37pm, weighing 3260kg (7lb 3oz). I'm a bit sore from the op, but otherwise as please as punch with the little man!
Not wanting to leave out my other little fellas, here's Joe with Charlie on his lap, and Mister Luka Palooka (the middle boy!!)
Just a brief post to let you know that today I am off to deliver baby #3 by C-Section! It's been a countdown and I am both excited and nervous, but mainly excited! As soon as I am out and home, a photo of the new little tacker, plus all the details will be posted! I may even be able to knit something in the 5 days that I am in hospital?!
Watch this space!
Now, Jac has a lot to be responsible for! This girl pretty much has the exact same taste as me when it comes to picking knitting projects, so on my last post (the one about the cable hooded sweater) she pointed me in the direction of the new Interweave Mag and the A Cardigan for Arwen! This is not knit in an 8ply/DK, but I now have the Urrrrrggggggeeeee to knit it up! Just got to find a 12ply that will work with this pattern (it's knit in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran). Oooo hang on, I think I have some charcoal coloured Rowan All Seasons Cotton (a colour long since discontinued) in my stash (you just gotta love knitting from your stash!) that would work a treat for this pattern.
The magazine goes on sale from 14th November, which implies that the ladies at Interweave Knits will have sent the usual copies to The Wool Shack a little while ago, so they should be landing very soon on our doorstep! HORRAH!
So, I have been rudely led away from my original project by Jacqueline, but at least it's in a very lovely way!
I always seem to be apologising for my lack of posts, but, as I am two weeks off a major op to get #3 out, I feel justified for being a bit vague! At the moment I am suffering from major nausea - 90% of the time I am struggling just to function and 10% of the time I have a good day, where I only feel tired, crampy, achy etc!
I have been getting a teeny tiny (no exaggeration) bit of knitting in, but it's just baby items, so no great shakes there (will post when the hooded stripey top is finished....honest!!).
Now, with the future in mind, one where raging hormones and heartburn have abated and my body is my own (well bits of it will be shared with a little baby boy), I wanted to get some help pattern hunting. I have some Rowan Wool Cotton, which is pretty much up there on my top 5 favourite yarns to knit with, and whilst recently reclining watching the first season of Grey's Anantomy, there was a character on the show who was wearing a green hooded cardigan with a subtle rib and cable pattern on it! I thought to myself (as you do when watching Dr McDreamy) Oooooo I could use my Wool Cotton to knit one of those! Now, my dilemma is, what pattern! I have made a preliminary search, but nowt as yet! Can anyone help with suggestions? It doesn't have to be a free online pattern, as I am happy to pay for any book if it's got the right design in it!
I have found one I quite like, but I can't seem to track down the pattern book.
So....there's the challenge, find me a hooded cable cardi pattern for an 8ply/DK weight yarn and I will love you forever!
ta muchly
