Wool Cotton Kimono

I have quite a stash of Debbie Bliss Wool Cotton tucked away, and always had plans to make the Wool Cotton Kimono in Debbie Bliss's The Baby Knits Book.  I did this in the round (again) but in my dazed and confused 'baby brain' state, I forgot that I needed to leave a small opening on each side to pop the wraparound ties through!  DOH!  So, I am left with the dilemma of finding an alternative closing method!  I think that maybe a button on the inside and a chinese knot clasp on the outside?  What do you think?

Blue Angora Bootees!

These were a pair of Angora Bootees from the book, Last Minute Knitted Gifts, and I used 1x ball of Bouton D'Or pure Angora!  So quick, so cute, so fluffy!  What more can you say?

Striped Hooded Top

Sorry, sorry, sorry, just as I feel up to getting back into the swing of blogging I start going down hill health wise again!  Poo!  Ah well, only 4 weeks to go before baby #3 arrives (oh and definiately a boy, for sure, no mistaking - another two ultrasounds have confirmed this).

So, onto the knitting.  This is what I am currently knitting, the Striped Hooded Top from Debbie Bliss's Baby Cashmerino Book.  I made one of these for my second son, Luka, in red and white, and this is in a sea green and limey green, very nice combo!  I am knitting it in the round, and have managed to get a neat 'not-quite-jogless-seam', without the jogless method (if thats what it called).  I have front and back complete, and now just the hood and arms to go, which shouldn't take too long (although its slow work when you feel pants all the time!).  I am planning to knit the sleeves on two circulars in the round, to avoid the seam.  This one is for 6-9 months, so it'll be ready for our winter.

There are also some new colours in the Baby Cashmerino, including a chocolate brown, and I am sorely tempted to knit another one in the chocolate and pale blue....mmmm my favourite colours!

Where Have I Been?

Hello everyone!  Yes, believe it or not, I am still here!  It's been a long old time, and for all the lovely well wishers out there who have been asking after me and the bub, all is fine in The Wool Shack household!  Life has just gotten hold of me and pretty much not left much time for much else (plus a REALLY busy business, two small people and a pregnancy!).

But - I PROMISE - I am now back, and I WILL be posting (and continuing to do so) come hell or high water!

So, thank's for your patience and lets get on with Knit 'n' Bitch!

Before I go on to show you what I have completed, purchased, not quite completed, want to comple etc, lets update you on my life to-date!

6 weeks today I shall be going in for my C-section to retrieve baby #3.  The pregnancy has been going well up to now, although I had been suffering from migraines, which landed me in Hospital for 4 days last weekend due to their severity (slurring, blurred vision, vomiting, thumping headache...the whole works!!).  I didn't get these with my other pregnancies and two doctors at the Hospital seemed surprised to hear that I was expecting a boy.  Apparently it is more common to get such severe attacks when carrying a girl, something to do with the Oestrogen from girl baby & mummy!  Both did the whole "well ultrasounds are never 100%" so now I am thrown back into the excitement of 'do I REALLY know what I am having?'.  I shall keep a girly name on standby, just in case, but I am not holding my breath!  I will post a bump photo soon to show you progress!

The Wool Shack has been incredibly busy this season, which is the main reason I have got sooooo behind with posting on my blog.  I have been too cream crackered at night to do anything but flop!  This is great, but makes space for anything else in life a little short!  We have just lost Lisa, one of our Wool Shack Girlies, due to the dreaded Pregnancy Lergy (she was 6 months gone and needed a break), so we are short staffed right now.  IF you live in Perth and would like a couple of days a week work (we are pretty flexible) do get in touch.

When Sprog #3 arrives, I will be taking a little back seat at The Wool Shack and concentrating on a project that has been on the go for ooooohhhhhhhh soooooooooo lonnnnnnnnnnnggg!  Its a Kids Knitwear Design Label that I have all the inspiration for, but now need to put the designs together.  I figure that with a wee person around, I have an excuse to sit, knit, sketch, design, plan etc, in amongst the breastfeeding!  Watch this space!

So, that's my brief 3 month history since we last met.  Let me move on to the juicy stuff!

Thanks for your patience

Em
