I know, I know, for the 3 of you who read my blog (thanks Miss Nicole, Marge & Mum) you may be thinking it's about time I posted something. Well, I've been in the UK for 5 weeks now, having a fab time and here are a few of the goings on that have occured in this time!
SNOW!! WE HAD SNOW! I think the last time I can remember my home town having snow that was thick and fluffy and exciting, was when I was a teenager (a loooonnnngggg time ago). Joseph (my 3 1/2 yr old) was convinced that In-ger-lund (his words not mine) would be covered in snow. In fact, whilst we waited for our luggage at Gatwick Airport, he kept asking if there was snow outside. To my delight, 2 days after Christmas the heavens opened with heaps and heaps of fluffy white stuff. Here are a few of the joyfull photos of that amazing time!
Christmas was amazingly fun. I've eaten WAY too much (yeah, I know it's the norm, but I feel fat right now) .....me thinks a low fat eating plan when I return to Oz NB: the 'D' word was not mentioned!
Ross, myself and the kiddiwinks then trundled down to Dorset for a week with his family. It was a stressful week in many ways (due to a strained mother-in-law relationship), but absolutely fab seeing old friends, frequenting good old English pubs and curry houses and general jollys!
I now have just over 3 weeks left and have even managed to fit in a trip to Disneyland Paris for a weekend!
Wool Shack UK plans may be on hold temporarily due to logistical problems (it's a long story, and I wont bore you) but there are one or two other very attractive possibilities...I'll keep you posted.
Knitting Wise....yes, I got to that part EVENTUALLY, I have made a start on my Kim Hargreaves denim kit, and it's looking good. My Mohair singlet is finished, but I must admit that I haven't worn it yet (feel too fat), plus I also rattled out another chunky hat for my sisters mate Wendy, plus another that's on order from my mum.
To be honest, I haven't had that much time to knit, what with looking after children seeing friends, oh...and eating!! Maybe the end of January will be more productive.
Despite having lots of fun here, I am missing my knit along girls, but at least have the smug knowledge that early April holds another Knitting Retreat by the beach.
So, that's me for now. I shall be taking photos on my knitting to date in the UK and posting again soon.
